Hitting the road

Before you hit the road in the other provinces or the U.S., call your agent or broker. You should check whether you have adequate coverage under your policy. It may be advisable to increase your civil liability coverage under your policy. Coverage of $2 million could protect you better in case of an accident. Especially in the U.S., where lawsuits are no trifling matter!

Make sure you’re well protected
in case of an accident.

Going on vacation?

When you go away for a few days, you can take certain precautions to make your home less attractive to thieves. For example, give it that lived-in look by having someone pick up your mail and mow the lawn. Also put away anything that could make easy work for thieves, such as ladders or garbage pails.

Leave with peace of mind!

New co-tenant

Is your spouse moving in with you or are you living with a friend? It's important to review your home insurance policy and to list the names of all co-tenants on the insurance policy so that everyone can take advantage of the coverage. This is also a good time to review the policy coverage and amounts. That way you're sure they're adequate and meets everyone's needs.

Spouses are automatically insured under the policy if they're married or have lived together for more
than three years.
