Home & Property

Moving in with that special someone?

With summer just around the corner, the moving season is fast approaching. Many couples will be taking advantage of the opportunity to move in together. But if you think your partner's home insurance policy will automatically extend to your belongings, you're mistaken. You need to add your name to the insurance policy to ensure your possessions are protected and you have adequate civil liability coverage. Click here for more details.

Automobile

Taking a road trip to the United States?

You're planning on driving to the U.S. for your vacation. You've spent months getting ready-you've traced out the route and booked your accommodations. But there's one question that's been bugging you: Will your auto insurance protect you while you're south of the border? The answer is yes, your policy will continue to provide coverage, within the limits of your policy. However, before you leave, you should ensure you have adequate civil liability coverage for any incident that may occur for which you may be held responsible. Off-road vehicles: Are your children old enough to operate them?

You just bought a new off-road vehicle and you plan on letting your children drive it. But be careful: the minimum legal age for driving this kind of vehicle is 16. And drivers under 18 years of age must apply for a special certificate of competency, even if they already hold a standard driver's license. Failure to do so could result in a fine.
