"Acts of God"
We often think a home insurance policy doesn't cover "Acts of God". Actually, standard or "all risk" insurance policies do cover damage caused by a number of natural disasters. Thus,
lightning strikes, hail and tornadoes are covered risks. To find out more,

Coverage when a city water main breaks
Did you know that your insurance policy covers damage to your home or car if a city water main breaks? It's good to know that all home insurance policies offer coverage for
such damage. And your car insurance would cover you if you have "all-risks" or "Accident without collision or upset" (commonly referred to as fire, theft and vandalism) coverage
under Chapter B. To check what your insurance policy covers, contact your insurer or your broker.

Declaring an accident with no claims
Had an accident with your car, but don't want to claim for damages from your insurer? Should you notify your insurer anyway? Definitely, because if the driver of the other
car involved in the collision does declare it, the claim will be entered in your file at the Fichier central des sinistres automobiles (Automobile Claims Database).
To have your version of the facts noted in your file, we strongly recommend that you declare the accident to your insurer, even if you don't want to file a claim.
