Self Employed Workers - Coverage of business property
Unlike home & property insurance, self-employment insurance covers all business property anywhere you do business, whether you're at home or not.
- The policy covers business property being transported or that is temporarily located off the premises. Damage to merchandise related to the insured person's business activities is also covered, such as crafts produced for a fair or bazaar.
- Software and data recovery is also covered, as per to the amount selected when you signed your policy.
- If the value of your business property goes up and you have to adjust your policy, you can do so as needed. For example, if you purchase a photocopier and your $10,000 coverage is no longer sufficient, you can increase your insured amount accordingly.
- Self-employment insurance provides you with the same coverage as your home & property insurance. Since it's usually added as a rider to an "all-perils" home & property policy, it protects your business property against all perils, such as theft, fire, vandalism, windstorms, hailstorms, and tornadoes-just like your personal property.
